Chane Behanan Suspended

Today during Louisville Basketball Media Day we were first given the news that sophmore power forward, Chane Behanan, would be banned from talking to the media during the first sememster this year. Now we have learned that Behanan has been suspended for the Pikeville exhibiton game on November 1st.
This supposably has nothing to do with academics so I wouldn’t worry about the eligabilty for him. Behanan has a track record of saying ill-advised things to the media. His most famous statements were his quotes saying…
“We are going undefeated”
and
“The Final Four will be a piece of Cake”
My guess would be that this is Pitino sending Behanan a message early in the season. It’s never a good thing to put a target on your team’s back by talking a big game. A big part of this team being a contender this year is to work as a team due to our depth.
Lets not forget that Pitino came out a couple weeks ago and said that Behanan wasn’t in the starting lineup this season. Lets be honest with ourselves though, if Chane Behanan isn’t a starter than we must be amazing because he basically put the team on his back through the tournament last year. There was even talks of him going to the NBA after his freshman year.
Plus lets not psych ourselves out over this, in reality, it’s only a exhibiton game that will not count towards stats or records anyways. So the silver lining is that maybe Behanan will mature as a teammate and make this team even better than we thought.

i know chane im from his area i watched him play almost every game his last two years he is a grest talent but im sure coach wants him to cool it a little ,he needs to listen to coach and work his tale off and he will be much better off.
Chane’s a good kid just young. With the talent he has, he has earned the right to strut a bit. However, it is Pitino’s role to put him back in line. This is small. Rick is nipping it in the bud early. Thats the sign of a good coach taking charge and showing leadership.
