dombrown Dominique Brown likely out for North Carolina game

Last night on his weekly call-in radio show, head coach Charlie Strong announced that running back Dominique Brown is unlikely to play against the Tar Heels on Saturday afternoon. Brown, who entered the season as the Cards’ active leading rusher, has yet to play this season with a knee injury.

In last year’s loss at UNC, Brown was one of the few bright spots…kind of anyways. He rushed for 47 yards on 18 attempts, which was good for an average of just 2.7 per carry. He also caught a touchdown pass at the end of the game to make the final score 14-7.

With Florida International on the docket next week you wonder if the coaching staff will run him out there to try to get reps or if they will sit him one more week to get ready for a tough portion of the schedule.

It’s times like these when you are thankful that you have depth at the running back position with guys like Jeremy Wright and Senorise Perry.
