Two of those incomplete passes were throwaways. He’s not missing.
Charles Gaines showed that he has both the quicks and the shakes. Gaines had three catches in the first half for 66 yards and one TD.

Both the offense and defense were strait making plays in the first half.
UofL’s defense took advantage of two UNC turnovers in the first quarter an interception on a screen pass by Marcus Smith and a fumble recovered by Adrian Bushell. Both turnovers came near midfield.
The Cards went for two points after both of their first touchdowns, but failed both attempts.
UNC didn’t help themselves. Bad snaps hurt the flow of the offense early and they couldn’t get into rhythm. UNC did find the end zone midway through the second quarter.
UofL also showed a lot of defensive sets with just three on the defensive line. Did a much better job of applying pressure up front.
The Cards jumped out early again in this one and will look to continue to move the ball down the field in the second half.
