Louisville – 35 Missouri State – 7

As expected, we beat Missouri State this afternoon, 35-7. Teddy Bridgewater was at his finest once again today. His efficiency and accuracy was phenomenal once again. At half time he only had 3 incompletions, which consisted of two drops and a spike.
One of the players that really stood out today was freshman Charles Gaines. Gaines didn’t play last week because Strong thought he wasn’t ready to play. But from the first play, where he connected with Teddy with a long pass, you could tell he was a big play receiver. Other than the “muffed” punt, he was extremely impressive.
Even though we held Missouri State to only one touchdown, watching the secondary concerned me today. It seemed as if over the middle was always open for them. If we let people throw down the field, up the middle, than we will be in trouble. With time I suspect we will get much better with that though. Our front line was good and so was our defense on the perimeter.
I am still extremely optimistic about this team and can’t wait to see what the future holds. With a huge game coming up against North Carolina, it’s a great time to be a U of L fan!
