Louisville and Southern Miss to face off for 30th time

The rivalry between Southern Miss and Louisville in football goes way back and Saturday night the two teams will square off for the 30th time in their history. They first faced each other in 1949 and the Golden Eagles have won 18 of the previous 29 match-ups.

The folks over at SouthernMiss.com have taken a closer look at this rivalry with their Top 5 Moments. All of these moments bend in the opposite direction of the Cards, so if you need extra motivation to want to get the win on Saturday, I’d advise checking it out.

The most recent of the games was the game in 1999 when the teams squared off for the C-USA crown and a birth in the Liberty Bowl. Chris Redman dominated but the Eagles went on to win, 30-27.
