The Good

Former Louisville Cardinal WR and Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch received a call from the Patriots this week asking him to come back. This came as a surprise to me, but apparently it wasn’t a surprise for Branch or the Patriots. The call came after TE Aaron Hernandez was injured over the weekend, but recent reports came out saying that the Patriots never even cleaned out Branch’s locker. I look forward to seeing this Louisville great back on the field.

The Bad

In 2014 the Big East will lose it’s ties to the Orange Bowl. To call this ‘bad’ is an understatement. This is horrendous. If the Big East loses it’s BCS bid altogether we can all officially enter panic mode. Recent talks are that television rights for the major conferences are just about finished so it is unlikely that there will be much more movement between them. God help us.

The Ugly

The major news from the Big East today is that they are hoping to add Airforce, Navy, and BYU. I call this ugly because it doesn’t help anything. With all due respect to the nations armed forces, this move is irrelevant and looks desperate. It may be some kind of help to the Big East, but it’s not any help to Louisville. Please stay Charlie!
