Mathiang A Likely Redshirt

This morning Rick Pitino said he will likely redshirt 6’10 205 pound center Mangok Mathiang. Mathiang has not been cleared by the NCAA yet, however even when he is, Pitino will still redshirt him.

Even though we have to wait an extra year to see him play, this is a smart move from Pitino. We are already solid in the five spot and, at 205 pounds, it wouldn’t hurt Mathiang to spend a year beefing up.
