Montrezl Harrell makes it official, heading to UofL

I think it’s safe to say Louisville’s big recruiting weekend was pretty successful.
As speculated Sunday, 6-8 power forward Montrezl Harrell made it official and announced for the Cards today, which adds a huge piece to UofL’s 2012-13 squad. Harrell, a top 100 player in the 2012 class and was released from his letter of intent by Virginia Tech, will provide needed depth in the low post. He’s a physical player with a 7-1 wingspan and is not afraid to throw around his 245-lb body.
We mentioned this several days ago, but Kevin Keatts deserves a ton of credit here. Keatts built a great relationship with Harrell and his family, and once Montrezl became available, UofL immediately shot up to the top of his list due to the connection with Keatts. In just a short time at Louisville, Kevin Keatts is proving to be a guy who lands players, not just get you on their list.
With Harrell in the fold, the 2012 class is 100% done. Now, let’s hope Terry Rozier gets himself eligible.
