Pitino comments on Harrell signing

Today, Louisville head coach Rick Pitino commented on the addition of 6-8 power forward Montrezl Harrell. In a press release, Rick had this to say about the powerful Harrell:

“We are really excited to have Montrezl part of the Cardinal program. He’s an explosive athlete, runs the floor extremely well and plays every second as if it’s his last. He brings exactly what we need in an extremely physical front line player to make us one of the better rebounding/blocked shots frontcourts in the nation.”

Because of the fact he originally signed a letter of intent with Virginia Tech, he cannot sign another LOI, but has signed a financial aid agreement with UofL. In addition, Montrezl is currently participating in the 2012 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team training camp in Colorado Springs and according to early reports via Twitter, he’s been impressive. He will enroll at Louisville during mid-Summer.
