Pitino Talks to CBS Sports About His Team

Rick Pitino recently spoke with CBS Sports’ Jeff Goodman about his UofL team and the struggles they have experienced this season. The article mainly revolves around the injuries Louisville has dealt with, which won’t come as news to any follower of the Cards. Here is what Rick had to say about the team:

“We’ve been so used to shuffling the lineup. This group has weathered the storm and outside of one game, they’ve played good basketball.”

Rick on Gorgui Dieng:

“We’re a good team as long as he’s on the floor. He’s our most valuable player.”

On Wayne Blackshear’s possible return:

“I was hoping to get him back for the Big East regular-season, but now I’m hoping we can have him for the Big East tournament. If he practices well, we’ll play him. If not, he’ll redshirt.”

As I said earlier, there’s nothing really newsworthy in this article, but worth checking out anyway.
