Troy Williams says 50/50 chance of package deal with Barber

1062122 Troy Williams says 50/50 chance of package deal with Barber

2013 wing Troy Williams tells Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com there’s a ‘50/50 chance’ he’ll play college basketball with his pal Anthony Barber. The 6-6 Williams is a top 50 recruit who originally was set to choose between Kentucky and North Carolina back in May, but delayed his decision and now will reportedly decide between Louisville, Alabama, Florida, Georgetown, and Arkansas. However, the key schools here are UofL and Alabama.

According to the story on Zagsblog, Williams and Barber would only be a package deal for the Cards or Tide. If Barber, an elite point guard recruit, chooses to go elsewhere, the deal would be off. Here’s what Barber had to say about that scenario:

“I mean basically for me, it depends on if I don’t go to Kansas. If I go to Kansas, there’s a possibility that it won’t happen. But if I don’t, then I think it’s like a high, high chance of me and Troy going to the same school.”

Barber, rated as a top ten prospect in the class of 2013 according to Scout.com, is considering Louisville, Alabama, Kansas, and North Carolina State. If the Cards were to land one of these guys, it would be great, both would be tremendous. And if they pull it off, assistant Kevin Keatts should get a raise on the spot. He’s been working these guys hard and has Louisville positioned very well.

We’ll continue to follow this story and provide any updates when available.
