McDonnell UofL baseball topped by WKU 8 1

Dan McDonnell’s Louisville baseball team traveled to Bowling Green to face off against Western Kentucky and did not have a good night. WKU held the Cards to a season low four hits and used a four run 5th inning to take control of the game. UofL starter Chad Green was very good as he tossed five innings on one-run baseball (unearned) and recorded five strikeouts. Unfortunately, the bullpen was completely ineffective and allowed seven earned runs over the final four frames.

With the loss, the Cards fall to 31-14 on the season. The Hilltoppers improved to 19-26. Louisville returns to the field this weekend with a three-game series at West Virginia. The series will begin Saturday with a doubleheader at 2:00 pm.
