We sit down again with Kevin Wright, founder of the Official Charlie Strong Fan Club.
Straitpinkie: Will Shawn Watson’s offense expand or will it be too conservative with the young weapons the Cards posses?
KW: I think after having the majority of these players for a year already, Watson will feel more comfortable trying new things and being more creative. However, I don’t think you’ll see a lot of variety in the home opener with it being the first game and the weather not cooperating
SP: Can we get used to Coach Strong on the sideline or will he end up at Arkansas too?
KW: I think Coach Strong’s future at UofL will be predicated on Louisville’s conference affiliation following this season. If the Cards win the Big East this season as predicted by many and end up in a BCS Bowl, Strong will get even more attention from bigger schools. Staying in the Big East and not jumping to a conference like the Big 12 might be the one thing that causes Strong to consider more money and one of the more traditionally elite conferences like the SEC
SP: The Official Charlie Strong Fan Club ( Like it Here ) has a great following, what drives you to make it better and bigger?
KW: First off I’ve been really pleased with the way people have gotten behind the group page and contributed in a variety of ways. I enjoy Louisville Football and genuinely like Coach Strong as a coach and as a person so it’s easy to stay engaged by giving updates. The main thing that drives me to continuously make the page better are the fans who tell me how much they appreciate the updates
SP: How will the running back position pan out this year?
KW: I think the running back position will be a battle all year. But if I had to pick one, I’d probably go with Dominique Brown. He’s a tough kid who is very durable and rarely fumbles the football. His performance last year against West Virginia made me a believer! With that said, I do think Senorise Perry, Jeremy Wright and Corvin Lamb will get opportunities to show their talents.
SP: StraitPinkies Teddy Five Shirt is amazing, are you going to visit Sunday Morning Hangover broadcasting live from PJCS on game day from 10-12 and pick one up?
KW: I haven’t seen the Teddy5 t-shirt yet but based on the hype it’s generating on Twitter I have to see it with my own eyes. Therefore, yes I will be stopping by the broadcast, red poncho and all, to say hello and hopefully walk away with a shirt
SP: I know you are involved in a great charity called A Pocketful of Hope, where can people get more information on the good deeds of the group and how they can help?
KW: The charity (A Pocketful of Hope) is run by Cindy Armes from Hardinsburg, KY and it provides financial relief to cancer patients who have to stop employment due to treatments. My golf scramble is the charity’s largest annual fundraiser where 100% of the proceeds go directly to Cindy. We had our scramble last weekend at The Falls Golf Resort and were able to raise a couple thousand dollars. People can get more information on my annual golf event by following @TheWrightCauses or @KevinLeeWright on Twitter or by visiting The Wright Brothers Annual Charity Golf Scramble on Facebook.
SP: Before I let you go, I need a score before the big game?
KW: The weather is definitely going to play a factor, especially when you look at special teams. I think UK plays with nothing to lose and keeps it close for 2 and a half quarters. In the end I just see UofL putting too much pressure on Max Smith and pounding UK with the running game late which opens up big play opportunities for Bridgewater and DeVante Parker. Cards 27 Cats 14

I hope Coach Strong never leaves The Ville, but i strongly agree that the bigger schools will be coming after him. Do you think the Big 12 would really keep him here ? Money talks !! And , do you think the Big 12 is reality for us ? All the Kentucky fans have to do is to buy Bobby Petrino a Blue Motorcycle & they will have their new coach..
