Week 7 Cards In The NFL

With the Broncos and the Falcons both having a bye this week, it left two former cardinals at home. After a couple strait great weeks Elivs Dumervil got a break and after a couple sup-par games Harry Dougals got a much needed breather. Without Dumervil making big plays, it was a rather quiet week for the Cardinal Alumni.
William Gay had 3 total tackles and 1 solo tackle as the Arizona Cardinals suffered a heart wrenching defeat to the Minnesota Vikings. His secondary runningmate, Kerry Rhodes, was ruled out early in the week with back problems so he wasn’t able to compete.
Deion Branch had only one catch for 9 yards as the New England Patriots played the New York Jets. His sole catch came on a drive where Brady had to march his team down the field to force overtime. The Patriots eventually came away with the victory, 29-26. Bilal Powell would have played in this game for the Jets but he is still injured.
It seems as if the running back controversy that plauged the Chicago Bears earlier in the season may be finalized. Matt Forte got his standard amount of carries and ran for close to 100 yards while Micheal Bush only had 6 carries for 36 yards. Bush averaged 6 yards a carry in the game so I wouldn’t chalk it up as a step back for Bush. Facing the facts, Matt Forte is one of the premiere backs in the NFL and everyone knew that he would get the bulk of the carries as the season progressed. The Bears beat the Detroit Lions 13-7 on monday night.
David Akers attempted and made 2 field goals this week against the Seattle Seahawks. These two field goals proved to be a decisive factor as the 49er’s pulled away with a close 13-6 victory.
